From October 9 to November 5, 2025, Saint Laurent Rive Droite Paris presents a selection of works by New York–based artist Maximilian Schubert, curated by Anthony Vaccarello. The exhibition, titled Dissolves, runs in parallel with Schubert’s solo show at Off Paradise in New York — two presentations that mirror each other across continents.

Schubert’s practice moves between painting and sculpture, exploring the tension between surface and depth. His latest series, Untitled (Dissolve) (2025– ), continues this exploration through cast urethane resin works that hover between material and immaterial. Using a process reminiscent of classical glazing, he builds each piece from countless layers of translucent polyurethane, creating luminous panels that appear to both absorb and emit light.
The works resist definition — neither painting nor object, but something that seems to shift as you move around it. Their surfaces are dense, fluid, and reflective all at once. For Vaccarello, the presentation aligns naturally with Saint Laurent Rive Droite’s ongoing dialogue between art, fashion, and form. A space where material precision meets aesthetic restraint.
Dissolves offers a study in perception, echoing the house’s fascination with texture, shadow, and the subtle architecture of minimalism.
