A LIGHT SUBLIME: BVLGARI UNVEILS THE NEW LVCEA NOTTE DI LUCE

There has always been an essential artistry to watch-making; an inherent poetry to the process of measuring time itself. With the release of the latest timepiece in its Lvcea collection, Bvlgari has fully embraced the beauty and creative potential of watchmaking—the Lvcea Notte di Luce is truly a wonder to behold. Conceived in collaboration with Japanese artist Yasuhiro Asai, a master of Urushi lacquer and the ancestral Raden technique, the poetic dials of Notte di Luce weave Japanese artistry into a dialogue with Italian elegance and Swiss horological mastery.

This limited-edition timepiece, reserved to only 85 pieces, is an artistic meditation on light, revealing a new facet of Lvcea’s radiant, feminine allure. Each dial is a singular creation, crafted entirely by hand in the artist’s Kyoto atelier. Tiny fragments of mother-of-pearl form a dreamlike composition, individually inlaid into the depth of the lacquer and encircled by a stunning diamond-set bezel.
Yasuhiro Asai is an artistic marvel, renowned for his mastery of Urushi and Raden, and it was a chance encounter between the Asai and Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Bvlgari’s Executive Director of Product Creation, lead to the birth of this exceptional collaboration. The dialogue for this new Lvcea took shape around a shared contemporary vision of traditional savoir-faire and a mutual fascination with light.

“We found a new way to speak of light through the reflections of thousands of tiny mother-of-pearl fragments,” explains Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani. “With this technique, we offer a fresh perspective on light through colour.”
Each of these timepieces are a unique creation imbued with a soul of their own, each dial the result of sixty days of meticulous effort—a true and lasting symbol of eternity.
