Numéro Netherlands Digital is proud to unveil Altered Realities, an exclusive editorial by photographer Lara Zankoul, captured in Beirut. Where God gives us one face, we are always free to paint another, to conceive of a different self beyond the obvious. This power can be freeing, or it can be driven by emotion and something deeper, something untamed. It is from this liminal and wild space that Altered Realities speaks from, or to quote Van Gogh, “…the emotions are sometimes so strong that I work without knowing it, the strokes come like speech.”
