PAUL SMITH LOVES BARBOUR: A NEW COLLABORATION BETWEEN TWO BRITISH ICONS

words by PHOEBE GIBSON-DOUGALL

Today, two of Britain’s best loved names, Paul Smith and Barbour, released a country-inspired collaboration for the ages. Comprised of 33 pieces, the collection is a playful take on British character, blending Paul Smith’s decidedly metropolitan style with Barbour’s bucolic heritage.

The collection takes a playful approach to country classics, comprising reimagined iterations of some of Barbour’s most iconic coats alongside knitwear, accessories, and t-shirts. There is colour, patchwork constructions, and an adorable Friesian cow motif.

The campaign leans into playful contrasts, telling a story grounded in British character, modernity, and wit. A typical British country fair acts as the backdrop for the images, evoking warm nostalgia and inviting people to see both design houses in a whole new, refreshing light. In an era when many brands take themselves too seriously, forgoing any trace of fun and frivolity, Paul Smith and Barbour are more than happy to buck the trend.
