SAINT LAURENT SERVED HOT IN ‘NOCTURNAL TEMPTATION’

words by VERONICA TLAPANCO SZABÓ

Anthony Vaccarello knows how to feed an appetite and his latest Saint Laurent editorial, ‘Nocturnal Temptation’, is a midnight feast for the senses. Exploring the real and the organic through a tactile lens, each image awakens something instinctive, something deliciously primal and hungry!

The leather’s supple folds recall the skin of ripe fruit begging to be peeled, while dark, glistening grapes spill from the flap of the Niki bag’s vintage leather straight into our open mouths. The Gaby Vanity bags blend effortlessly into the banquet, tucked between rambutan and pear—a cameo that made many Southeast Asians smile knowingly.

Resin earrings gleam like hard candy, sweetening the scene with a touch of trompe-l’œil. And of course, only Saint Laurent could serve a dinner so ecstatic that someone’s Amalia slingback in Cuba gold and deep cognac ends up in the silver grape tray where each shade finds its match. By the end, the decadence spills into the kitchen too, dirty dishes stacked high, crowned with the Icarino bag in velvety dark beige, like a cup of coffee savoured after dessert.

Perfectly timed with Christmas on the horizon, it’s your cue to start that wishlist (it’s never too soon!)
