My Lima Lima, founded by Eloise van Oranje and Thomas Latcham, joined forces with Attire Amsterdam to stage a show at Studio Noorderfabriek, bringing together creatives from across the industry to remind us that one of fashion’s most powerful roles is to uplift and support those in need. We’re here to tell the story of their recent show, “See Now, Buy Now,” where they, true to form, placed charity at the heart of everything.
First, let’s talk about the initiative itself. My Lima Lima focuses on a lot, social life, community, fashion, the hospitality business, really everything that involves creativity and serves as a platform for change and progress. The fashion show, naturally, centered on the creative side of things, featuring designs by Kelly van der Wijst, who in her own words emphasized how “luxury and circularity can go hand in hand.” The show explored three main themes: Nordic, Méditerranée, and Yumé.
According to Eloise van Oranje: “We believe in creating unforgettable experiences that not only inspire but also give back. With this evening, we wanted to show that sustainable fashion can be sexy and contemporary, and that every piece deserves a second life.”
And that’s exactly what happened, it was a successful evening, with the project now nearing its €10,000 fundraising goal. The funds will go toward projects such as a school founded by Malala in Pakistan, which supports young girls’ education, a cause that simply cannot be supported enough.
