VICTORIA BARBARA WEARS DOLCE & GABBANA TO VOGUE WORLD: MILANO
Italian craftsmanship set the agenda at Vogue World: Milano, where Victoria Barbara joined guests in a pinstriped Dolce & Gabbana suit. Held on 22 September at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the fifth edition of Vogue World celebrated the people and processes behind Italian fashion. Coinciding with the opening of Milan Fashion Week, the event brought a wider cultural purpose to the evening, raising funds for the city’s Quarto Oggiaro Library.

For Barbara, founder and creative director of the fashion platform victoriabarbara.com, the occasion called for tailoring. Her chocolate-brown suit paired a double-breasted jacket with wide-leg trousers, its fine pinstripes tracing an elongated silhouette. Strong shoulders and broad peaked lapels framed a sharply defined waist, giving the jacket a sculpted shape. A white shirt and tonal tie continued the menswear references, while a black textured clutch, platform shoes and gold-toned jewellery completed the look.
The choice of Dolce & Gabbana naturally wasn’t coincidental and connected with the evening’s focus on Italian making. Tailoring remains central to the house’s vocabulary, and its autumn/winter 2026 collection explored precise cuts, silhouettes and traditional pinstripes through a womenswear lens — a broader context for Barbara’s look.
At the event, the relationship between heritage and its contemporary expression became even more crystalised. Archival pieces, current collections and custom designs appeared in a programme spanning artisanal traditions and textile innovation, with a contribution from the Teatro alla Scala Chorus. The setting gave those ideas an architectural counterpart, placing fashion within one of Milan’s most recognisable public spaces.
Against that backdrop, Barbara’s pinstripes offered a straightforward interpretation of the evening’s theme, with the focus on sartorial excellence and the enduring language of the Italian suit.
