IN CONVERSATION WITH NOAH TAYLOR
interview by JANA LETONJA
Actor, writer, and musician Noah B. Taylor’s work spans screen, stage, and song. He recently joined the cast of Netflix’s global phenomenon ‘Wednesday’, where he’s portraying Bruno Yuson in the show’s highly anticipated second season. In addition to his work as an actor, Taylor is one-half of the music duo One Minute Friend, a collaboration with his brother. Known for their intimate lyrics and genre-blending sound, the band will release their debut album, ‘For You, My Love (While My Other Half Waits)’, in August 2025.
You recently joined the cast of Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 as Bruno Yuson. How did you prepare for this role, and what drew you to the character?
When I booked the role, I was still in acting school, and in the months prior to shooting, we were doing animal studies in movement class. Getting to experiment with different physicalities and ways of carrying myself was really helpful. The duality of Bruno was really interesting to me. Even in the sides I auditioned with, there were these moments of vulnerability that broke through the confident front he puts up, which gave me a lot to explore.

‘Wednesday’ has become a global phenomenon. How does it feel to be part of such a highly successful series?
It’s so surreal, I’m definitely still trying to wrap my head around it. I’m just insanely grateful to have this experience and work with all the amazing people on the show.
What has been the most exciting or challenging aspect of working on the show?
Everyone involved with this project is so talented, and having the opportunity to work with them was so inspiring. I felt really welcome from day one and had so much fun getting to know everybody over the course of the shoot.

What can the fans expect from the second part of Season 2, which will come out in September?
Fans should expect a lot more twists and turns in part two. I’m really excited for people to see how everything turns out.
You’re also one-half of the music duo One Minute Friend with your brother. How did the decision to start making music together come about?
Sam, my brother, and I both grew up playing music, so we naturally started to work together on songs here and there. As our tastes and styles developed, we realized that our musical instincts really complemented each other and decided to work on an album together.

Your debut album ‘For You, My Love (While My Other Half Waits)’ is set to release in August 2025. What can listeners expect from the album?
When we started recording, we didn’t have a specific end product in mind. I’d recorded a handful of songs while I was away shooting ‘Wednesday’ and he’d been working on some as well. When I came back, we touched base and noticed common themes in our songs which gave us some starting points. The album ended up being a collection of pieces exploring regret, lost love, and the desire to start over.
The duo is known for intimate lyrics and genre-blending sounds. What inspires your songwriting and musical style
Spontaneity is really important to me. Recording music feels like a desperate attempt to capture a moment and holding on to the sense memory of the initial spark of inspiration is helpful for me. I think it’s really easy to formulate a strict workflow and I try to avoid that as much as I can. Instead of automatically laying down parts in the order that “makes sense”, I try to add what I feel the song needs in whatever order the music calls for. Sometimes I’ll write a whole song based on a single phrase that pops into my head, or try a new style because of an artist I’m listening to. My love for the band Les Rallizes Dénudés is probably responsible for some of the noisier moments on the album.

How do you balance your dual careers in acting and music? Do you find that one influences the other
I bring my guitar and recording set up with me whenever I travel so I’m able to work on music pretty consistently. It definitely took a backseat while shooting ‘Wednesday’, so it’s been good to have the past few months to really focus on it. Both mediums allow you to access different perspectives and experience emotion more intensely, so I try to approach both with vulnerability in mind.
How do you stay creatively motivated across different artistic fields?
Acting, music and writing nurture and drain different aspects of my creativity and being able to switch between them allows me to keep things fresh. If I’m burnt out on writing, I can take a break to work on music and come back later. I have a habit of trying to “output” more than I “input”, so I do my best to remember to take a second and live.

Beyond ‘Wednesday’ and your music, are there any other projects or mediums you’re eager to explore?
I’ve written a few short stories and have been working on a novel for the past couple months. It’s been really rewarding to explore the emotional journeys of multiple characters in a longform medium while also tackling themes that would be harder to articulate in a song or a short story
How do you like to spend your downtime when you’re not working on acting or music
I haven’t had much success at maintaining any hobbies over the years so I spend most of my free time reading, listening to music and watching movies.
