CARTIER LAUNCHES SANTOS DE CARTIER'S SMALL MODEL
words by NATALIE GAL
The prevalent jeweller launches a new version of their renowned, historical watch, Santos de Cartier.
In 1904 a special watch was designed for Alberto Santos Dumont. The pilot complained about using a pocket watch when flying an aeroplane, it was uncomfortable and challenging. His friend, Louis Cartier created the first modern wristwatch.
The new model emphasises the same harmonious simplicity. The watch bears pure lines, visible screws, and distinguished mechanical and technical elements while staying small (27 mm x 34.5 mm) and comfortable. Santos de Cartier is also water-resistant up to 3 bars (approx. 30 metres). The watch is interchangeable with a metal bracelet or leather strap and is available in silver and gold.
