At Upclose Festival 2025, fashion was once again an extension of the music with The Gang Is Beautiful - raw, unfiltered, and connected to the underground techno scene. Merel Daantje captured the crowd’s energy who leaned into functional pieces with a distinct touch, with fits that could move, sweat, and breathe.

There was a clear emphasis on comfort, but never at the expense of expression. The crowd played with proportions: oversized outwear hanging off sharp silhouettes, or fluid shapes layered over tighter bases. Other went for body-hugging fits that worked like second skin, balanced with heavy textures or distressed materials. Each look was truly individual, rooted in community and experience, and completely aligned with the atmosphere of the festival.
Upclose definitely dressed up - and showed up.
