FROM PARIS TO TOKYO: DIOR FALL 2025
For Dior Fall 2025, Maria Grazia Chiuri looks to Japan - a country where tradition and innovation, as well as precision, ritual, and modern craftsmanship coexist in harmony. Photographed by Yuriko Takagi, a longtime collaborator of the House, the collection is introduced through a series of quiet, composed images. The visual language is restrained but rich, echoing the meeting point between French couture and Japanese technique.
The silhouettes take cues from the kimono, with broad, structured lines that wrap the body. Hand-drawn botanical motifs appear on silk, detailed but never ornamental. Long tunics are trimmed with fine fringe that moves with the wearer. Layering is key, with sheer fabrics, tonal gradients, and touches of gold thread adding depth without excess. Accessories follow the same approach. The Dior Book Tote returns, reinterpreted with intricate Japanese patterns.
The focus is on proportion, surface, and form, as well as on the connection between two design traditions. The collection reflects Dior’s deep and ongoing relationship with Japan - a country that has shaped the House’s aesthetic vocabulary for decades. Fall 2025 is measured, intentional, and grounded, built on shared values of discipline, technique, and beauty.
