GALLOPING THROUGH THE PARK - AN INSTALLATION BY MVRDV

words by NATALIE GAL

Hermés invites MVRDV to design their windows at P.C. Hooftsraat 94, inspired by Hermès’ 2025 theme “Drawn to craft”.

MVRDV is considered one of the world's leading architectural firms, their iconic buildings can be spotted not only in the Netherlands but Japan, Denmark, Spain and Germany. The award-winning MVRDV is now set to design the home of Hermés in Amsterdam.

The installation will become one with the building through a tridimensional design, where we viewers are simply lost in the details. The project is also focusing on sustainability, using plant-based recyclable materials and 3D printing.

Looking at the design I can't help but feel a sense of art nouveau aesthetic, the attention to detail, the petite and careful components melting together in perfect harmony. An outstanding collaboration between the unconventional, urban creativity of MVRDV and the timeless grace of Hermés.
