NEW BALANCE LAUNCHES ABZORB 2000

New Balance is breathing new life into its iconic ABZORB cushioning with the launch of two standout models: the ABZORB 2010 and ABZORB 2000. Both silhouettes take cues from early 2000s running footwear, redesigned using contemporary aesthetics and high-performance materials.

The ABZORB 2010 brings together past and present in a design that feels familiar yet fresh. Its upper features a breathable diamond-mesh structure paired with soft suede overlays, creating a dynamic mix of textures. The chunky sole, built around visible ABZORB cushioning and sculptural details, provides both visual impact and all-day comfort. It’s a bold statement piece that still feels rooted in performance heritage.

Meanwhile, the ABZORB 2000, which made its first appearance at Milan Design Week, pushes the concept even further. This model strips things back to a minimalist aesthetic while incorporating details like partially 3D-printed components. The use of both ABZORB and ABZORB SBS gel pads in the sole highlights New Balance’s commitment to pushing comfort and innovation forward, without losing sight of its archival roots.

“It was all about finding the balance between classic and innovative,” explains Charlotte Lee, Design Manager at New Balance.

The ABZORB 2010 landed first, releasing globally on May 7, 2025, through newbalance.nl and select retailers. The ABZORB 2000 will follow shortly after, with a release date set for June 12, 2025.
