TEMPLE & CHAPON, A TOUCH OF MANHATTAN IN THE HEART OF PARIS
words by MARIE-PAULINE CESARI
Temple & Chapon brings New York’s 1950s chop house spirit to the Marais, mixing Parisian elegance with bold American energy. Hidden behind a discreet door, the place opens up to a stunning bar and a sweeping staircase that leads to the dining room beneath a glass ceiling. The vibe is both intimate and sophisticated—perfect for cocktails, dinner, or a long brunch.
We started with two signature cocktails, both beautifully crafted to fit the Manhattan theme. The Mysterious Traveler (vermouths, Bénédictine, Cognac, and cocoa-infused Fino) was rich and complex, while the Expérience 1 (vodka, elderflower, lemongrass, basil, lemon) was bright and refreshing—my favorite of the two.
For starters, we went fresh and light:
Red Tuna – with sesame-yuzu vinaigrette, spinach sprouts, and chickpea espuma.
Meagre Carpaccio – with olive, zucchini, and lime, bringing a taste of late summer.
The main dish was made to share: Lobster Linguini with Espelette pepper bisque. The sauce turned the pasta a fiery red, full of flavor, and perfectly matched the richness of the lobster.
Dessert sealed the night with indulgence:
Paris-New York – a crunchy choux filled with creamy pecan ganache.
Peanut Butter Cheesecake – paired with Madagascar vanilla ice cream.
from stepping through that discreet door to sitting under the glass ceiling with cocktails in hand, the evening felt both intimate and grand at the same time. The lobster linguini, the cocktails, the desserts… everything matched that first impression: elegant, surprising, and just a little indulgent.
