WHY EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT BISOUS, THE NEW AMSTERDAM HOTSPOT
words NATALIE GAL
Finally, we get to write about Bisous, the Amsterdam hotspot that’s been on everyone’s radar for months. It’s been the talk of the town, the place you hear about in passing and immidiately try to find a time to visit. Between the bold design and the Paris-esque menu, we can firmly say, Bisous is worth the hype.
First thing you notice? The interior, of course. It’s pop-art chic with bold colors and a touch of Malevich or Kandinsky, the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another time, a great mixture of artistic styles, much like a movie set. It’s nostalgic and futuristic all at once, and it totally sets the mood for what’s to come.
Then comes the food, the Petits Toasts are the perfect starting point: butter and caviar, foie gras, goat cheese. Small bites that feel indulgent but not overdone. We must also highlight the caviar and cheese selection which is truly extensive.
The mains lean into pure French classics. Confit de Canard and Coq au Vin are comfort dishes through and through, and here they’re executed with a lot of love. For dessert the Tarte Tatin and Crème Brûlée feel as though they came straight from Paris, sweet and nostalgic.
So, is Bisous worth a visit? 100%. Whether you’re just in Amsterdam for a quick trip or you live here and want to escape the usual city vibe, this spot lets you travel straight to Paris.
