On January 29, 2027, Apple Original Films will release the first fully authorised documentary Fleetwood Mac: The Chain, directed by Frank Marshall. The film will offer a look at Fleetwood Mac’s life and his memories with Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, reflecting on their 50-plus year history, including exclusive interviews and footage.
The project will dive into their record-breaking studio sessions and tours up to the present day. Back in 2024, Fleetwood Mac: The Chain was announced to be the definitive chronicle of the band. The documentary will explore the highs and lows of their career, what allowed them to create singular musical work again and again, and what held them together through all these years. The title The Chain refers to the only track on their Grammy Award-winning album Rumors crediting all members of the band as writers, capturing the complicated bond at the heart of Fleetwood Mac. The film’s premiere also coincides with the 50th anniversary of the release of Rumours.
