EVERYTHING THAT WENT DOWN AT THE EMMY AWARDS 2025

editor MAREK BARTEK

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards One of the most glamorous award nights took place last night in LA, recognising the talents across the television industry. One of the most glamorous award nights brought together breakthrough stars, long-awaited wins, political statements, and red carpet moments to be remembered. And so, without further ado, here’s our favourite moments of The Emmy’s.

First and foremost, The Emmy’s are an event of awarding brilliant talent, and this year, there have been some new milestones reached. At just 15 years old, Owen Cooper made history as the youngest Emmy winner ever, taking home Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for Adolescence. Alongside Cooper, his co-star Erin Doherty also scored a trophy, cementing the show’s place as the season’s breakout. Another historic win went to Tramell Tillman, who became the first Black actor to win Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for his role in Severance. The Studio dominated the comedy category, scoring The Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Directing for a comedy series and Writing for a comedy series. The drama’s clear winner was the series The Pitt, which among others brought the long awaited first win to Noah Wyle.

Of course, it wouldn't be a good award sum up if we didn’t speak on the fashion of the night. The talk of the town was, without a doubt, Jenna Ortega’s jewellery top. Coming from Sarah Burton’s Givenchy Fall 2025 show, Ortega wore nothing underneath, and paired the top with a simple black floor-length skirt with a slit. Channeling Isabella Rosellini’s iconic look in Death Becomes Her, Ortega has been serving us goth aesthetics while promoting Wednesday’s second season. On the occasion of Chloë Sevigny being nominated for her role in Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story, she arrived in black Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello looking absolutely stunning. Sarah Paulson in Marc Jacobs feather gown from Fall 2019 sparked the whole debate on whether it was best or worst dressed. It was a showstopper for sure. Simply put, Jacobs designs aren’t for everyone but they certainly are for Paulson, and we loved to see it.

Among our favourites were also Erin Doherty in sculptural Louis Vuitton, Aimee Lou Wood in McQueen, Lisa in Lever Couture and Christian Louboutin shoes, Molly Gordon in striped vintage Giorgio Armani from Fall/Winter 1996, Hunter Schafer in McQueen, and, the queen of everything that’s funny, Jennifer Coolidge in Christian Siriano.

Special honorary mention goes to the drag queen Joella, who showed up in a Labubu outfit. There is a thin line between love and hate, and Joella walked that line perfectly.

Since the male fashion is usually narrowed down to the monotone variations of suit with either a tie or a bowtie, we were beyond happy to spot a couple of looks that definitely left us gasping. Hollywood’s favourite father figures ran the show with Pedro Pascal in a full white Celine , Walton Goggins sporting retro cool with an unbuttoned shirt, and Colman Domingo with a pastel Valentino suit with matching shawl.

But what made this year truly unique, was the heightened awareness of what’s happening in the world. We do not live in isolation, and it was truly empowering to see guests coming forward. After more than 1300 artists — including Olivia Colman, Tilda Swinton, Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Riz Ahmed, and Javier Bardem — pledged not to work with Israeli film institutions that are implicated in “genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people,” many others appeared last night wearing the red pins in solidarity with the situation in Gaza. Among those making statements were Javier Bardem stepping on the carpet in a kaffiyeh, and Hacks’ Megan Stalter opting for a more lowkey look of Hanes tee and Levi’s jeans, bringing attention to her bag which read “Ceasefire!” And while some spoke their minds through fashion choices, others did so directly on the stage. After accepting her Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series award for Hacks, Hannah Einbinder finished her speech with: “Go birds, fuck ICE, and Free Palestine!”
