MILEY CYRUS ANNOUNCES HER NEW ALBUM ‘BASS PERSUADES’

words by TIANA DE HASETH

On September 18th, Miley Cyrus will release her new album, Bass Persuades, through Atlantic Records. It is her tenth album and features ten tracks, with the list released on Spotify, including her new single Bass Persuades. On an Instagram post, Miley explained the meaning of her album as music being “powerful and vulnerable, sweet and strong, capturing every part of life from a full heart to heartache”. This album will also bring a major change for the pop star, who has removed her surname on her Instagram , and going now by MILEY.

At only 14 years old, Miley released her first album, Meet Miley Cyrus, featuring the hit singles Start All Over and See You Again, effectively launching her career under her real name rather than Hannah Montana. A decade later, Cyrus has become one of the biggest icons of our generation. With a legacy extending her Hannah Montana days, the Bangerz era, and winning her first Grammy in 2024 for her hit single Flowers, giving us music we will never forget.

It’s impossible to not be excited for Miley her new album. Her newly released single and music video shows her embodying her Can't Be Tamed era and transforming it into a mature energy. The lyrics say “the kids don’t wanna dance“, and “we can't stay like this forever, let's surrender to the night, put our bodies close together”. Expressing the free spirit of letting go and living in the moment. This will be a new era for Miley to honour her godmother Dolly Parton, that was a huge musical and personal inspiration for her. Of course, we will never forget Dolly her own free spirit that inspired us all.

To celebrate the album release, the pop star will be performing at the Hollywood Bowl with two shows, on October 16th and 18th.
