THE 2026 EMMY AWARDS: ALL THE WINNERS AND HIGHLIGHTS

This year's Emmys were quite magical. The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards were held at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, with Mariska Hargitay hosting the show.

Widow's Bay had the night to remember, finishing its first season as the most decorated comedy, with wins across Best Comedy Series, directing, writing, and both supporting acting categories. Matthew Rhys added to the show's big night by winning Comedy Actor for Widow's Bay, then turned around and won again for Limited Series Actor in The Beast in Me, becoming the first actor to win across all three lead acting categories and the first man to take two lead prizes in one year.

The Pitt took Best Drama Series after leading all shows with the most nominations this year. Rhea Seehorn picked up Lead Actress in a Drama for Pluribus, her first Emmy after years on Better Call Saul.

Jean Smart kept her streak going too, winning Lead Actress in a Comedy for Hacks for the fifth year in a row, meaning she won every single time she was eligible. That ties her with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Cloris Leachman for the most Emmys ever won by a performer.

DTF St. Louis was one of the night's bigger surprises, sweeping both limited series supporting categories with David Harbour and Linda Cardellini before also taking Best Limited or Anthology Series. The Bear had its own moment too, with a Guest Actor win for Rob Reiner (posthumous).

Michael J. Fox also received an extended standing ovation as he accepted the Television Academy's Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, one of the more emotional moments of the night.
