We’re all buzzing for the upcoming show Amsterdam Empire, and not just because our beloved city will finally get the spotlight it deserves on screen! The first images of the show now dropped and we are also sharing the release date of this long awaited Netflix production!

The plot is packed with drama: Jack van Doorn (Jacob Derwig), founder of the Jackal coffee shop empire, is caught in the middle of an affair with a journalist (Elise Schaap). His betrayed wife Betty (Famke Janssen), a former pop diva, has had enough. Ready for revenge, she’s going all out. And let’s be honest, who knows more about this criminal royalty than a scorned wife?

What makes this even more exciting is that it marks Famke Janssen’s first role in a Dutch production, while also serving as executive producer. The series looks absolutely gripping, and the timing couldn’t be better. The rains are back (were they ever gone?), and it’s the perfect moment to get cosy in our dimly lit apartments.

Amsterdam Empire drops on Netflix, October 30th, just in time for that Halloween haze. We seriously cannot wait.
