TEAM ORANJE GETS ITS FOOTBALL SUMMER ANTHEM

As a summer of football approaches, Dutch artists $hirak and Jonna Fraser are teaming to launch their newest release We’re All Gonna It (WAGMI). Motivational messaging and good energy afro-beats make it the perfect unofficial anthem for the Dutch national team. Set to resonate across stadiums during every Netherlands team match, you’ll soon be hearing it everywhere, ensuring its spot as a Dutch summer staple.

The track’s title inspiration actually originates from the crypto world, where users across crypto and trading platforms popularised the acronym (WAGMI) as a rallying cry, pushing for optimism and solidarity even during extreme market volatility. Translating this energy to the world of football, that same enthusiasm rings true especially amongst tournament season. With Bitvavo as KNVB partner since 2022, WAGMI bridges the intersection between football and crypto, illuminating their shared communities that revolve around optimism, togetherness, momentum.

However its meaning shifts in this context, serving as a reminder to believe in yourself, each other and the moment. This phrase particularly resonates with Jonna Fraser, who grew up with guys who would go on to be professional footballers. Though he chose a different path, the same conviction applies, each of them following the same mantra: ‘someday we are going to make it.’

WAGMI is a manifestation of this idea. Through production by $hirak and vocals by Jonna Fraser, they’ve constructed a recognizable sound that feels euphoric and accessible. We can imagine it playing in stadiums, fan zones, cars, bars, festivals — anywhere, realy, making it an instant summer classic for the Netherlands.

"Football has always been a passion of mine," says $hirak. "The fact that I now have the opportunity to combine my music with football in a song for Oranje makes this collaboration extra fun."

Playing the track live for the first time on June 3rd, $hirak and Jonna Fraser will be performing at the center circle prior to the Dutch national team's farewell match at De Kuip in Rotterdam. This event will follow up with the release of the official music video on June 4th. Directed by Camille Boumans, it will pay a cinematic tribute to Dutch football and internet culture, all encompassed with the backdrop of a local stadium.
