48 HOURS AT THE RADISSON BLU PARK HOTEL IN ATHENS
editor ELIANA CASA
After our romantic winter escape in Venice at the Radisson Collection Hotel Palazzo Nani, we found ourselves in another city steeped in beauty and meaning—Athens, the city of art and wisdom. This time, the Radisson Blu Park Hotel Athens became our home for 48 hours of adventure, discovery, and relaxation. If it’s your first time exploring this ancient metropolis, or you’re returning to the land of gods and goddesses, desperately searching for the right place to stay—then you should keep reading.
Upon arrival, a thoughtful welcome awaited us in our room: fresh fruits and wine, a gesture that immediately set the tone. Without wasting a moment, we relaxed outside on the terrace overlooking Pedion Tou Areos, one of the city's largest parks. The view? Simply mesmerising, highlighted by a sunset that made us forget about the cold days in Amsterdam. After freshening up, we made our way to the rooftop, where the sky's hues reflected beautifully in the waters of the swimming pool. For a moment, we truly felt like characters in an episode of The White Lotus.
As evening settled, a table at 10 Urban Rooftop and Restaurant awaited us. Walking into the dining space, our eyes were immediately drawn to the majestic Acropolis. Here, the art of flavor isn’t just a motto—it’s a promise fulfilled with every dish, a true love letter to Greece.
We began with traditional Greek wine paired with a trio of fresh local dips. Then came a culinary journey through the islands: Cretan 'Skioufihta' pasta with prawn tartare, and the catch of the day, perfectly marinated in a rich tomato sauce. Each bite unveiled a new facet of Greek cuisine. The desserts were a real cherry on top—chocolate mousse with olive oil, sea salt, and cardamom ice cream, balanced by the zingy orange sorbet with almond cream, saffron crème, and crisp meringue. The service? Impeccable—attentive, warm, and truly elevating the experience.
The following morning, we squeezed in a quick gym session before heading out to explore Athens. The hotel’s central location made everything accessible—just a few steps from the metro and perfectly placed for short stays filled with sightseeing.
On our final day, just before departure, we soaked up the sun one last time on the rooftop terrace, letting the soft warmth of the Athenian sun kiss our skin one last time. Below us, the city pulsed with quiet energy—ancient and modern, chaotic and serene, all at once. As we packed our bags, hearts a little heavier and fuller, we knew we weren’t saying goodbye. Just until next time. Because once a city - and a hotel like this welcomes you in, it never truly lets you go.
