More than seventy-five years after Cristóbal Balenciaga introduced Le Dix, the House’s very first perfume, this launch serves both as tribute and reinvention. It honours the couturier’s legacy, his mastery of silhouette and his ability to blur boundaries between sculpture and dressmaking, and translates that radical spirit into scent.
The revival began with a 15-year archival search that led to the rediscovery of a forgotten 1947 Le Dix bottle. Faithfully reproduced, its globular glass cap and hand-tied ribbon return, now in refillable form. The packaging deliberately aged to mirror the passage of time: the original Le Dix logotype resurfaces against Balenciaga’s signature industrial grey. The ten perfumes unfold across a chromatic spectrum from luminous clarity to smoke-tinted facets. Each scent expresses a tension between heritage techniques and cutting-edge signatures, crafted through the medium of perfume.
Balenciaga’s fragrance collection will debut at the Maison’s historic address on Avenue George V in Paris, alongside select European and North American stores and balenciaga.com, before a wider international release.
