PENHALIGON’S FORTUITOUS FINLEY: A NOVEL COME TO LIFE

Remember those grand English estates? Where the garden is so large you cannot possibly take in its size. Forever a little old-fashioned, these estates seem destined to speak of an era long passed, perhaps even already old-fashioned in their own time.

In these gardens there is often a maze, a labyrinth: where children of the family play, where teenagers steal a hiding spot with their first love, where adults stroll through with the baby carriage, and where the elderly linger on a bench, observing the peace.

It all feels like a special novel, something Jane Austen-esque meeting P.G. Wodehouse. The scent is inspired by this very specific way of being: sweet at first, yet defined by leather and spice. Cardamom and black pepper, salted pistachio, violet, each carefully chosen to represent a corner of that timeless garden, that enduring estate.
