BYREDO PRESENTS NIGHT VEILS’ NEW FRAGRANCE BOIS OBSCUR
editor MAREK BARTEK
Byredo marks ten years of its Night Veils collection with a new chapter: Bois Obscur. The extrait de parfum revisits the idea of night as something transformative — a time when things slow down and depth replaces distraction.

The scent opens with saffron and eucalyptus, a sharp, almost metallic clarity that softens into papyrus, tuberose, and jasmine. Deeper in, oud and mineral amber merge with patchouli, labdanum, and sandalwood to create warmth without heaviness. It’s a fragrance that lingers, unfolding gradually, like a thought that won’t leave.
The design of the Night Veils collection has evolved too. The bottle now stands taller with a thicker glass base and antique-gold cap that mirrors the hue of the perfume inside. The reusable case adds a tactile finish, turning the bottle into more of a design object than just packaging.
Bois Obscur expands Byredo’s continuous fascination with the hours after dark. It’s less about mystery or transformation, and more about presence — the stillness that comes when the day fades, and something more personal begins to surface.
