VALENTINO BEAUTY’S ‘BORN IN ROMA’ THROUGH DIGITAL ARTISTRY
words by VERONICA TLAPANCO SZABÓ
Valentino Beauty has been hitting all the right notes lately, not just through its fragrances, but culturally too. After reopening New York City’s legendary Studio 54 for one unforgettable night, Born in Roma has been on a wild run, landing today with a new artistic collaboration. The house has invited seven visionary digital artists to reinterpret the Born in Roma Donna and Uomo bottles through their own visual styles. The participating artists are Infiniteyay, Daily Splice, Xeocho, Chrissie Abbott, Andrew Knives, Maria Ines Guil, and Simon Bailley.

Given a carte blanche, the artists were only asked to keep one thing intact, the spirit of Born in Roma. From 3D animation to digital illustration, the range of expression is vast and refreshing. Whether you’re drawn to the surreal, the playful, or the graphic, there’s an iteration here that’s bound to resonate. They each bring a distinctive sensibility which in turn transforms the pink studded bottle into a work of art.

To showcase the project, Valentino Beauty turned its Instagram into a digital gallery of sorts, where the iconic stud-shaped bottle pops incessantly in and out of the frame like a rush of feelings…existing in the past and the future all at once like in this retro futurist dreamscape. In times where the arts can feel fleeting, Valentino Beauty doubles down on creativity and community and affirms that artists should and will remain at the heart of the conversation!
