ADE X AMSTERDAM 750 JOIN FORCES TO CELEBRATE THE CITY’S 750TH ANNIVERSARY
words by PHOEBE GIBSON-DOUGALL
It’s officially autumn in Amsterdam; the days are getting shorter, the nights are getting longer, and the temperature is dropping. The upside of all of this? It means that ADE, your favourite DJ’s favourite festival, is just around the corner. This year, prepare for an even bigger and better ADE, one that coincides with the city’s 750th birthday bash in a multidisciplinary collaboration of music, culture, and community.

Under ADE Arts & Culture, the multi-disciplinary platform that blends music with visual arts, performance, and immersive experiences, ADE will host a week of Amsterdam 750 crossover events. Each ADE day will see a dedicated showcase, with each of them set against the backdrop of one of the city’s many iconic cultural venues. The aim is to celebrate the diversity of Amsterdam’s many cultures and subcultures, all of which have shaped the city over the course of its 750 years.
The confirmed events range from two immersive Opening Specials at ARTIS Planetarium, to a celebration of Surinamese culture and electronic music at Concertgebouw. On the city’s actual birthday Young Marco, Legowelt and Mary Lake will all play live ambient sessions as part of a final, special ADE x Amsterdam 750. Each will step away from their usual dancefloor settings to create something intimate and special for the very city that shaped them musically, a fitting tribute to Amsterdam on the day it turns 750 years old.
Amsterdam Dance Event runs from 22-26 October 2025. The full range of ADE events will be released in the coming weeks. For more information, you can check out ADE’s website here, or read up on everything Amsterdam 750 here.
