BANG & OLUFSEN CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF SOUND EXCELLENCE
words by PHOEBE GIBSON-DOUGALL
To celebrate a century of beautiful sound, Bang & Olufsen invited 250 distinguished guests to Copenhagen’s Opera House for an exquisite evening set against the backdrop of the city’s glistening waterfront. With sweeping views across the harbour toward the city’s historic skyline and the luminous silhouette of Amalienborg Palace, the setting was as architectural as it was atmospheric—a place where design, sound and light converged to celebrate Bang & Olufsen’s centenary.

The 250-person guest-list boasted influential figures from across the globe, with attendees ranging from VIPs to press luminaries to friends of Bang & Olufsen, including Charles Leclerc, Helena Kristensen, Nicole Ari Parker, Tom Kristensen, and Bjarke Ingels. As dusk fell, guests arrived to the resonant sound of Italian pianist and composer Alberto Bof, whose performance set an elegant tone for the evening ahead.
Beneath the Opera’s sculptural ceilings an elegant dinner unfolded, where Bang & Olufsen CEO Kristian Teär reminded guests of the two founders’ vision: “A never-failing will to create only the best…persistently to find new ways”. His words echoed through an evening that celebrated a century of innovation, craftsmanship and design—values that remain as relevant today as in 1925.
