UPCLOSE 2026 REVEALS ITS FULL LINE UP

After two popular editions, Upclose returns in 2026  for two days shaped entirely around the dance floor. On 16 and 17 May, Spaarnwoude-Park once again becomes a meeting point for dancers drawn to depth, intensity and the more progressive edges of techno.

Created by Awakenings as a direct ode to club culture, Upclose keeps the emphasis is on shared energy and long-form immersion. Building on previous years, the 2026 edition leans further into forward-thinking sounds, spotlighting artists who prioritise experimentation and commitment over broad appeal.

Live performance plays a central role. Colin Benders x Dasha Rush, The Tunegirl and UFO95 anchor a programme focused on hardware-driven, analogue techno, while rare appearances from Planetary Assault Systems and LSD — the collaborative project of Luke Slater, Function and Steve Bicknell — mark standout moments, with LSD celebrating its ten-year anniversary across dedicated shows.

Several artists return in expanded roles. Freddy K, Rene Wise and Alarico each appear twice, revealing different sides of their sound through both techno and house-leaning sets. Elsewhere, Blasha & Allatt, Ciara Cuvé, DJ Boring x Odymel and Main Phase broaden the spectrum with groove-driven and left-field selections.

International pioneers meet local pillars throughout the weekend, from Collabs 3000 and Ignez x Rødhåd to a strong representation of Dutch underground talent. Intimate in scale but uncompromising in vision, Upclose 2026 reinforces its position as a space for dancers who come to dance and stay for the connection.
