At this year's Upclose Festival, the fashion was just as exciting as the musical lineup, once again through a collaboration with The Gang is Beautiful. There is not a certain style that defines the festival’s fashion — instead, its aesthetic appears through a vibrant mix of people brought together by their shared love of electronic music. Captured through the lens of Merel Daantje, we’re placed amongst the crowds, each shot capturing high energy and movement within summer’s sweltering embrace.

As we are walked through the characters of Upclose, a theme starts to emerge. Techno-adjacent looks become a reappearing motif through black clothes, sunglasses and silver accents. Nevertheless, streetwear’s presence stands strong, with baggy silhouettes and sportswear dominating our visual field. Though as we look throughout each individual look, the crowd shares one commonality: an energy that reverberates through sweat-slicked skin and high spirits, proving to us that Upclose has done it again.
