BOTTEGA VENETA UNVEILS ‘IL MIO’: A PORTRAIT SERIES
Allowing us an intimate glance into the bags and their wearers, Bottega Veneta has just launched IL MIO, a portrait series photographed by Drew Vickers under the creative direction of Louise Trotter. Meaning ‘what belongs to me’ in Italian, the series celebrates the love-lorn relationship between a treasured object — in this case, a bag — and the person who has chosen it as their own.
A bag is more than an accessory: they become companions through life to be collected, cherished, and passed between generations.
The portraits feature five Intrecciato designs: the Mini Andiamo, Lauren 1980, Madison, and a preview of the new Baby Campana and Baby Barbara, which will launch later this summer.
Each piece holds high craftsmanship to its highest degree, making pieces that are born to last down the family tree. They are meant to complement the attitude, individuality, and everyday life of its wearer, making it pop rather than wither. The woven pieces shift into an extension of the self, shaped by hand, worn over time, and kept close as part of one’s personal world.
