BVLGARI’S ‘ECLETTICA’ WEAVES DIAMONDS AND LACE INTO JEWELRY

Move over Marilyn, diamonds are actually Bvlgari’s best friend. With the brand’s latest high-end jewelry collection, diamonds are put on a dazzling spotlight in honour of Paris Haute Couture Week. Titled Eclettica, the pieces are made up of exclusively diamonds and lace that weave together into intricately jeweled fabrics that mould to take the shape of glittering necklaces and earrings.

The Maison’s craftsmanship finds its stride with this capsule collection. Through an array of 26 High Jewelry masterpieces, each piece has its own intricate design and composition that feels entirely unique. Draped elegantly around necks and shoulders, the jewelry acts more like an art piece rather than an accessory. They act as sculptural beings, decorating the body while becoming an extension of it, moving within a material that feels alive in its flexibility and glittering fluidity. A true display of graceful, effortless elegance.

Diamonds are of course, nothing new to the Bvlgari lineage, however the imposition of lace and textiles into jewelry breaks a new boundary for the house. The supple underlying texture shine with architectural artistry, allowing the intricate interlinking of stones, metal and fabric to act as a second, airy skin.

Each piece comes with a backstory, such as the Gabarit en Ajour necklace which unfolds as a delicate ode to filet lace, dotted with carré- and baguette-cut diamonds that alternate with pavé-set stones to create a unique geometric pattern that manages to balance structure with a radiant lightness. The Mélange Précieux necklace on the other hand, find its inspiration from the intricate artistry and patterning of macramé lace, centred by a rare 6.20-carat diamond.
