OUTSIDE THE RICK OWENS SHOW BY SERHII VASYLIEV

Dark and poetic, and predictably unpredictable — that’s the only way to describe Rick Owens’ seasonal runway shows, traditionally held at the Palais de Tokyo. Although for many Owens’ design language might seem almost too wicked, those of us who know know that under the hard shell of provocation hides a tender soul yearning to make the world a better place for everyone. Now that the secret is out, who wouldn’t want to be part of the Rick Owens movement? Photographer Serhii Vasyliev captured those arriving — a procession of devotees stepping into the strange, beautiful world Owens has built.
