Shot in the fields of Ulyankovo, a rural village in the West of Russia, ANASTASIA ORLOVA captures the landscape’s peaceful beauty through bright, colour-rich contrasts along with serene black-and-white compositions. Centred on model MAJAK JOSEPH ACHOL MANGAR, Reality Failure dabbles with the extremities of reality, placing us in world that feels both fantastical and subtly absurd.

The photos tell a story, as we see the familiar world begin to "break down" — textures crack, light behaves unnaturally, and objects duplicate. The protagonist notices these anomalies and gradually discovers "rifts" — various objects through which another world, either purer or, conversely, more chaotic, can be seen. In the process, they don't just observe but interact: reaching out with a hand, passing through partially, or getting stuck between layers of reality. The sequence ends with the hero transitioning to the new world, running free from any and all qualms.
