ROTATE MAKES ITS AMSTERDAM DEBUT AT AFW
words NATALIE GAL
Copenhagen style is the perfect example of the Scandinavian aesthetic: minimal, high-quality materials, and simple shades we absolutely adore here in Amsterdam. On 3 September, Scandinavian brand ROTATE brought exactly this energy to our beloved Fashion Week. The memorable evening took place at SHU Amsterdam in collaboration with AFW.
The collection was a pleasant surprise, featuring sculptural coats, tailored jackets, and even a mix of faux furs. Of course, evening wear also took center stage. SHU was transformed into a chic and sexy hub for the city’s artists, models, and creatives — and really, this is what Fashion Week is all about!
But let’s rewind. Before the party, Jeanette and Thora, Co-Founders and Creative Directors of ROTATE, sat down with Numéro Netherlands’ gem, Managing Editor Marie-Pauline Cesari, for an open conversation on female empowerment and how it has shaped ROTATE itself. Fashion Week is, of course, about clothes, design, and beautiful things — but it is also about dialogue. That dialogue must include discussions of empowerment and the voices too often marginalized in media. We’re so glad to have been part of it!
