SABRINA HARRISON ROCKED ARCHIVAL VERSACE AT THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

Bringing her lifelong love for couture to the 79th Annual Cannes Film Festival, entrepreneur and philanthropist Sabrina Harrison brings yet another archival look to the red carpet. This time, she started out the festival season by wearing a look from the Versace Spring/Summer 2004 collection: a minty bedazzled, ruched dress that just screams early 2000s, whilst maintaining a timeless sense of elegance.

Dedicating her life to the patronage and collection of designer clothing, Sabrina is consistently involved with the CFDA and Fashion Trust US, which are both non-profit organisations with a focus on supporting craftsmanship and emerging designers. This deep love for couture extends to her passion for the preservation of pieces and their innate historical relevance in the fashion context. Putting this thought into concrete action, Sabrina recently donated two of her couture pieces to The Costume Institute, which are now part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s permanent collection.

Considering this commitment, wearing this look feels completely attuned to her stylistic vision. Standing alone as an iconic piece of fashion history, this piece feels representative of a whole era of the fashion house, showing a true dedication to the craft and legacy behind the house. As Donatella’s time at Versace comes to a close, this dress allows us to reminisce on some of her signature motifs that have come to define the house’s identity.

Following the main event, she later wore a piece by Ashi Studio, in attendance at a charitable soirée in honour of the AIDS Research organisation, amfAR. Sculpted through pale pink hues, the piece reads almost as a work of art rather than a piece of clothing, again proving her true enthusiasm for the craftsmanship that comes with the creation of designer pieces.
