SUMMER WISHLIST

editor MARIA MOTA

Summer has arrived all at once. One minute we were complaining about the rain, the next we were trying to figure out how to sleep through a heatwave without air conditioning. I'm not complaining, though. The energy is back. Amsterdam feels twice as busy, with terraces stretching into the streets, parks full until late, and everyone lingering a little longer than they planned to.

And with that comes a different way of getting dressed, of getting ready, of collecting the little things that make summer feel like summer. So, naturally, we've put together an edit of everything we're loving right now.

MERIT | THE UNIFORM

I know I should wear sunscreen every day, but somehow it's the one skincare step I always negotiate with myself. I know I’m not alone in this, so let this be a reminder to me as much as it is to you.

Lately I've been reaching for The Uniform. A mineral SPF 50 that doesn't behave like one: lightweight, soft-focus, and without that ghostly white cast or ashy finish that so often comes with mineral formulas, even on olive and deeper skin tones. I've always liked the brand's considered approach to ingredients, but it's the texture that converted me to this one. Soft, weightless, barely there. Not a tinted moisturiser, not another glowy SPF, just skincare, protection and sheer coverage.

MARIE-STELLA-MARIS | NO.05 BERGAMOT LEAF

For the summer of 2026, Marie-Stella-Maris is launching the limited edition No.05 Bergamot Leaf, a scent that reflects the refreshing and bright energy of the season.

It opens with bright bergamot before settling into green cypress and pine, grounded by a warm, woody base. Fresh and comforting, like the last light of a long summer day or an early morning swim.

It's available for a limited time across a selection of the brand's body and home essentials, which somehow makes it feel even more like summer itself: lively, effortless, and worth enjoying while it's here.

TOM FORD | FT1400 SUNGLASSES

Tom Ford's FT1400 feels like it has stepped straight out of the '90s. The wraparound silhouette and slender proportions create that effortless kind of cool that doesn't ask for attention, but somehow gets it.

Seen on Jacob Elordi, Odessa A'zion and Jordan Firstman, it has quickly become the frame of the season. The lenses come in soft shades of blue, pink and neutral grey, adding a playful touch to an otherwise sharp design. A little retro, a little futuristic. The kind of accessory that does all the talking.

FRUITY BOOTY X CARMEN AMSTERDAM | CARMEN FLORAL ONE PIECE

Fruity Booty and CARMEN's first swimwear collaboration is a little nostalgic but entirely of the moment. High cuts, floral prints, simple shapes, and that effortless confidence of a favorite piece worn season after season.

The capsule includes Fruity's scoop-neck bikini, an '80s-inspired high-cut brief, a one-piece and a sarong crafted from deadstock fabric. The floral prints are an ode to The Netherlands in spring, with tulips and roses scattered across like a memory of warmer days.

Designed around fit, comfort and the beauty of real bodies, these are the kind of pieces that feel made for a summer wardrobe.

LE LABO | ENCENS 9

Le Labo's ENCENS 9 is inspired by the Japanese tradition of Kōdō, the Way of Incense, where fragrance is something to be experienced rather than simply smelled. Handmade in Kyoto by a twelfth-generation family workshop using centuries-old techniques, each stick burns for around 25 minutes, filling the room with warm amber, resin and a subtle thread of clove. ENCENS 9 offers serenity in your living space and inspires our souls to reach a calm state.

MIU MIU X NEW BALANCE WITH COCO GAUFF | 530 SL

The latest chapter of the New Balance and Miu Miu collaboration with Coco Gauff honors the timeless beauty of tennis. A meeting point between performance and a certain kind of elegance, created for the court but with a life far beyond it.

The new 530 SL sneakers arrive in a refined leather version, with technical details softened by unexpected touches like asymmetrical woven laces that bring a sense of spontaneity to the classic silhouette. Alongside them, the collection expands into skirts, track pants, hoodies, outerwear, caps and headbands. Worn by Coco Gauff, the world No. 2 and one of tennis' most exciting players, it feels like a new interpretation of the tennis uniform, made for every day.

VALENTINO BEAUTY | HAIR & BODY MIST

Valentino Beauty introduced the Born in Roma Hair & Body Mists, a lighter, more playful way to wear scent, leaving behind a soft, luminous fragrance veil.

The collection arrives in four gourmand-inspired essences: Golden Coconut, Caramel Crush, Vanilla Bliss and Salty Pistachio. Think creamy coconut, melting caramel, soft vanilla and the unexpected sweetness of pistachio, notes that feel very much of the moment, but still carry the unmistakable character of Born in Roma.

The recommended layering combinations are Born in Roma Donna Eau de Parfum with Vanilla Bliss Hair & Body Mist, and Born in Roma Donna Yellow Dream Eau de Parfum with Golden Coconut Hair & Body Mist.
