HERMÈS JEWELLERY ENTERS THE “HORSESCAPE” WITH A COLLECTION BUILT AROUND AN ALMOST INVISIBLE HORSE

Hermès Jewellery unveils Into the Horsescape, its ninth haute bijouterie collection, exploring the symbolism of the horse through a series of 90 pieces where the animal itself remains mostly unseen. Instead of direct representations, the collection translates the horse’s presence through movement, tension, and the functional objects historically associated with equestrian culture.

“The horse itself is barely seen, but its symbolism lives within each piece, sometimes even taking on a metaphorical quality” explains Pierre Hardy, Creative Director of Hermès Jewellery. The collection begins with the idea of the line, a gesture that exists before ornamentation, where form and movement define the identity of each jewel.

Equestrian references appear through transformed fragments: an elongated horse bit framing an emerald, a lasso recreated through baguette-cut diamonds, a stirrup reduced to its essential structure, or a blacksmith’s nail reimagined in precious materials. Removed from their original utility, these objects become abstract expressions of energy and motion.

With hidden mechanisms, disappearing clasps, and articulated structures, craftsmanship gets truly challenged, allowing jewellery to move with the body. Pieces shift between softness and architecture, creating a relationship between material, gesture, and the wearer.

The colour palette draws from the textures of the horse itself. Deep blacks of jade and Tahitian stone reference the shine of hooves, while rose gold and brown diamonds recall the warmth of a horse’s coat.

Through Into the Horsescape, Hermès moves beyond literal equestrian imagery, choosing a more interesting approach, creating a collection focused on memory. The horse becomes an atmosphere, an invisible force shaping the movement of each jewel.
