THE PARTY MUST GO ON IN THE HOUSE OF MCQUEEN
editor MAREK BARTEK
Elaborating on the Holiday edit 2025, McQueen returns to Eltham Palace for its Spring/Summer Pre-Collection 2026 campaign. Inspired by Dafydd Jones’ The Last Hurray — the book in which the visual artist captures affluent British society at play during the 1980s —Seán McGirr plays on the hedonism of it all, looking at how romanticism and rebellion come together to shape the McQueen spirit.
But no matter how rebellious, the collection remains unapologetically British. Heritage wools from British mills, the abundance of tartan, argyle and Glen check mix with soft skull printed silk twill foulards and floral printed silk chiffon. Razor-sharp The Skull pumps for the night out juxtaposition with the equestrian Countryside boots, perfect for a rainy day on the Isles.
And, of course, through sun and rain, The Manta remains the “it” bag of the season. Reimagining the original De Manta from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection, it fuses soft, sculpted leather with angular folded edges, distinctive textural finishes, and all-over studded silver eyelets.
