EXCLUSIVE PRINT EDITORIAL ‘SAINT VINCENT’ BY FIDELIO FAUSTINO

Numéro Netherlands is proud to present ‘Saint Vincent,’ an exclusive travel editorial, featured in our latest print issue, Fantasy. Captured by Fidelio Faustino in the Caribbean, where dreams and memory blur; what is imagined often feels as tangible as what is lived. These photographs were taken in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, small islands full of history, knowledge and culture, where it all begins with the people, rich in spirit, rooted in resilience. It unfolds as an ongoing visual archive, a collection of images that lives between reality and recollection.

These fragments of memory can sometimes be mistaken for dreams: men carrying the weight of the land, women embodying strength, streets humming with both stillness and rhythm. Each frame becomes a meditation on identity, environment and the contradictions of existence in a place shaped by both beauty and struggle.

Deeply Afro-Caribbean at its core, this work resists the singular, idyllic image of the Caribbean. Instead, it embraces the complexity, showing the everyday as a site of fantasy, where the ordinary transforms into something untouchable. In doing so, it builds an archive, not only of what is, but of what could be.

Because in the Caribbean, fantasy is not an escape. It is a tool of survival, a language of reinvention and a way of imagining futures through the lens of memory.
