BURBERRY CELEBRATES FESTIVAL SEASON

words by NATALIE GAL

Burberry is back with its new 2025 festival collection, capturing the essence of Britishness through fashion and celebrating icons from music, art, and fashion. The campaign, expertly shot by director Kim Gehrig and photographer Drew Vickers, perfectly embodies this spirit.

Festival aesthetics are clearly having a renaissance. I still remember, as an '04 baby, seeing those boho-chic Coachella looks in 2016 and thinking that was the peak of fashion. It was all the rage: over-the-top accessories, flower headbands, cowboy boots, white lace tops, and chunky necklaces. Now, it's making a comeback with a fresh twist, and I've been awaiting this moment!

In the almost ten years that festival fashion lay dormant, two significant things happened in my life. I lived in England and fell deeply in love with it — in a charmingly complicated way — the people, the energy, the history, the stories. This is something Burberry represents so accurately for me. It was also the first iconic brand I ever fell for; I'd constantly check out their new campaigns, stare at their Budapest shop window, and obsess over images on Pinterest. What's more, my first-ever perfume at age 12 was Burberry London Eau de Parfum. For me, Burberry is the personification of utter Britishness —more than just a lifestyle or an aesthetic, it's a way of being.

What else happened? I started working for a fashion magazine, and now I have the chance to write about my love for a great look. I adore British style in all its forms: that Alexa Chung-esque, low-effort chic of London streetwear, the 'Sense and Sensibility' soft and flowy dresses of the countryside, and, of course, the classic tailored tweed, in all its iterations, that makes everyone look dashing.

In this new collection, all these styles beautifully collide, forming a comfortable and chic capsule wardrobe perfect for the upcoming festival season. You'll find pieces featuring the classic Burberry pattern alongside shapes, materials, and colors that define British fashion. Keep an eye out for mini kilts, rubber boots, leather and Harrington jackets, Marsh rubber boots, and leather Potter and suede Urchin clogs.

And, of course, who better to embody these pieces than some of the most iconic figures from this misty island? The candid photos feature familiar faces like Liam Gallagher, Goldie, John Glacier, Cara Delevingne, Alexa Chung, and Lennon Gallagher, among many others.

Burberry once again reminds me why I fell in love with it so long ago: its unique pieces, exceptional craftsmanship, constant innovation, and rich heritage. Is it time for a quick trip to London this weekend? Ta-ta!
