CASIO LAUNCHES NEW MT-G WATCH FEATURING AI-ASSISTED FRAME DESIGN

Casio has announced the latest addition to its G-SHOCK line of shock-resistant watches: the MTG-B4000.

This new model features a striking frame co-designed by human creators and AI technology. Part of the MT-G series, the MTG-B4000 continues the line’s reputation for innovative constructions that fuse metal and resin in unexpected ways.

Driven by its mission to bring wonder within reach and spark joy in people’s lives, Casio continues to create new value through fresh approaches. With the MT-G series, the brand pushes the limits of shock-resistant technology by combining materials in practical yet unconventional designs.

The MTG-B4000 introduces a frame developed through a collaboration between human designers and generative AI. For the first time in a Casio consumer product, AI technology has been integrated into the design process. Designers used AI as a creative tool to explore new possibilities and to develop a complex structure that would have been difficult to realize through traditional methods.

The process began with sketches from human designers. The AI then performed simulations based on decades of G-SHOCK’s shock-resistance data. It proposed optimized structural models, considering factors such as strength, materials, and manufacturability. These AI-generated proposals were refined and tested by Casio’s specialists, resulting in a final frame that ensures the signature toughness of G-SHOCK while introducing a bold new aesthetic only made possible through this type of collaboration.

The watch also features a new construction in which the band is directly integrated into the frame. This helps absorb shock more effectively and reduces the impact on the central case. The frame itself is cut from a base of laminated carbon and fiberglass sheets, creating a striking layered pattern along the sides. The top of the bezel is finished with techniques such as Sallaz polishing, giving the watch a refined and luxurious look from every angle.

Functionality is also a key strength of the MTG-B4000. The watch receives time calibration signals from six global stations and supports Mobile Link via Bluetooth®. This allows for automatic time syncing and access to a range of features through the dedicated CASIO WATCHES app.
