CHANEL N°5 REIMAGINED IN DIAMONDS: COLLECTION N°5

words by NATALIE GAL

“What do I wear in bed? Why, Chanel No. 5, of course,” Marilyn Monroe once famously said, and I couldn’t agree more. Now, the legendary Chanel No. 5 steps into a new era with a stunning jewelry collection inspired by the iconic fragrance.

In 1920, Gabrielle Chanel tasked Russian-French perfumer Ernest Beaux with creating a scent that would make a woman "smell like a woman, not like a rose." The result, launched in 1921 and simply named No. 5, would go on to become one of the most celebrated fragrances in history. The number itself held special significance: Chanel debuted her collections on May 5th, the fifth day of the fifth month, a number she considered her lucky charm.

Over the decades, Chanel No. 5 has transcended fragrance to become a cultural icon, beloved by celebrities and immortalized in countless campaigns. Today, it takes on a new form with the same elegance, sophistication, and timeless allure that define the scent.

The new high jewelry collection pays homage to this legacy, with Mademoiselle’s lucky number brought to life in luminous diamonds. The pieces highlight the contrast between the brilliance of diamonds and the purity of the structure, designed in gold with architectural precision.

To mark 2025, the collection introduces two exquisite creations: a versatile necklace that can be worn as a choker, and a bracelet crafted in a trio of golds, white, BEIGE, and yellow. At the heart of the design is the iconic number 5, entirely set with diamonds and a GIA-certified 0.30-carat diamond.

Every detail reflects the house’s design DNA. The bracelet’s invisible clasp, hidden within the curve of the number 5, echoes the iconic fastening of the 2.55 handbag, a subtle but unmistakable nod to Chanel’s heritage. It’s these nuanced touches that make the collection truly exceptional.
