DAILY PAPER AND EASTPAK DEBUT THEIR FIRST COLLABORATION
words NIA TOPALOVA
Daily Paper and Eastpak released their first joint collection in Amsterdam, introducing a series of bags that combine perfectly well Eastpak’s functional design with Daily Paper’s visual and cultural language. The launch took place at the Daily Paper flagship store, where the focus was on material, detail, and everyday wearability.
The collaboration includes three bag styles: a backpack, a mini bag, and a tote. All three merge Eastpak’s functional base with Daily Paper’s visual identity. The bags come in two finishes: DP Black and DP Embossed, defined by the use of the Daily Paper shield logo, which appears either large or subtly pressed into the material. The shield refers to East African nomadic symbols and speaks to the themes of protection and mobility, though this is communicated more through the design itself than any loud messaging.
Each piece keeps Eastpak’s practical elements: built-in laptop sleeves, bottle holders, adjustable straps, zip pockets. Daily Paper adds details like beaded zipper pulls and tonal branding - clear design choices with a focus on everyday use.
In the shop, people moved between trying the bags on, browsing, and even photographing themselves in a dedicated photo setup where everyone could shoot their own looks with the bags, which added a casual, interactive layer to the release. Daily Paper and Eastpark together created a very special and warm setting, inviting people into the collaboration, physically, visually, and in how they might wear the pieces.
