HONOURING YOHAN SERFATY WITH AN ARCHIVE AUCTION FOR THE ANDAM PRIZE 2026
editor MAREK BARTEK
A decade after his passing, Yohan Serfaty’s vision is finding a new life through the Fonds de Dotation Yohan Serfaty pour la création contemporaine et le dialogue des cultures — a charitable foundation created by his sister, Nathalie Serfaty, to honour his legacy. Known first for founding his own label and later helping shape the early DNA of Y/PROJECT, Serfaty championed emerging and outsider voices in fashion. The Fund will continue that mission, offering financial support to new, committed brands and nurturing cross-cultural creativity.
Its first initiative comes this September with a unique auction of rare archive pieces from the earliest Y/PROJECT and Yohan Serfaty collections. Around 300 garments ranging from €50 to €2,000, sizes XS to M will go under the digital hammer on Instagram between September 1 and 26. The sale then moves offline to VSP Paris from 4th to 6th October, where pieces will be offered at fixed prices.
Proceeds from the auction will be donated to ANDAM, France’s leading fashion award platform, to create a special prize in 2026. The grant, which is expected to be around €20,000, will go to a designer whose work reflects the spirit Serfaty stood for: bold, independent, and deeply engaged with the cultural moment.
Beyond the clothes themselves, this is a chance for fashion lovers to own a fragment of history while directly contributing to its future. The only commercial aim here is charity; the goal is to grow the Fund’s reach so it can maximise impact for young talent.
The auction is live on Instagram from 1st September. For collectors and supporters of independent fashion, it’s an invitation to honour the past while investing in the next generation.
