MOGA CAPARICA 2025
words by NATALIE GAL
Costa da Caparica’s golden sands and Atlantic waves provided the dreamiest location for MOGA Caparica 2025, which ran from May 28 to June 1. Set along a stunning 26 km coastline just south of Lisbon, the electronic music festival transformed Praia da Morena into an immersive destination for underground beats, cultural workshops and memorable experiences.
This year MOGA hosted 19,000 fans, at 41 events spread across Caparica’s iconic venues. With memorable headliners including Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, DJ Harvey, and Blond:ish joined by numerous local artists, creating a great blend of Portuguese talent and global names.
According to Timotej, our Editor-in-Chief, a visit to MOGA Caparica is nothing short of memorable. He describes the festival’s setting as “a breathtaking scenery of golden sand, the surrounding cliffs and the endless Atlantic. The weather was flawless, with clear skies, and that classic Portuguese gentle ocean breeze." Music was amazing, every DJ brought something unique,” he recalls, “but what really stood out were the festival-goers themselves. I lost count of the number of incredible outfits,” Timotej laughs.
But MOGA was not only about music and dance but about the fusion of beach parties, cultural workshops, and immersive art. Spreading out across 41 events in some of Caparica’s most beloved spots — Azul, Alma, Nuua, Lorosae and Borda d’Água. You could catch early-morning surf classes, then drift into a yoga session or sound bath to stretch out the day. There were hands-on DJ workshops plus cosy outdoor cinema nights under the stars. Not to mention the vibrant Souk market, where you could browse over 35 stalls of local creators and small shops.
Without a doubt, MOGA is the future of festivals: a place to enjoy yourself but at the same time, support the community that welcomes you, immerse yourself in the local culture, make genuine connections — and of course, dance to the best tunes until dawn.
