PIAGET UNVEILS THE NEW HIGH JEWELRY COLLECTION: SHAPES OF EXTRALEGANZA
words by NATALIE GAL
Following last year’s Essence of Extraleganza, Piaget’s new collection dives even deeper into the brand’s creative roots from the 1960s and ’70s. It celebrates bold colours, playful shapes, and striking designs — an homage to the Maison’s iconic collaborations with artists like Salvador Dalí and Arman, as well as collectors like Andy Warhol.
The collection feels fresh and experimental, full of the vibrant energy Piaget is known for. Squares, triangles, zigzags, waves, and circles — layered and intertwined in joyful and detailed sculptural compositions. There’s a clear nod to Pop Art, Op Art, the psychedelic prints of ’70s fashion, the geometry of Yves Saint Laurent’s Mondrian dress, and the soft, rounded forms of ’60s design icons like the Egg and Bubble chairs.
Looking at it feels like stepping back in time. There’s a strong sense of nostalgia (even for someone like me, born in 2004, who didn’t live through those decades). But that’s the power of those eras they still shape what we wear, watch, and admire today. The freedom, boldness, and creative flow of that era were truly rare. Just think about how prints, shapes, and colours from the ’60s and ’70s still make their way back into fashion today.
Each suite in the collection also features a watch, highlighting Piaget’s unique ability to blend High Jewellery with Haute Horlogerie. For the first time, the brand combines intricate watchmaking , complete with exciting complications, with bold, fashion-forward design.
