MAX MARA RESORT 2026 FASHION SHOW
words by NATALIE GAL
On June 17th in Naples, Italy, MAX MARA unveiled a collection that beautifully captured the spirit of effortless Italian glamour. The show was elevated with the stunning backdrop of Reggia di Caserta — a former royal palace and UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its baroque and neoclassical elegance.
The first thing that caught my eye was the flawless colour palette: warm beige, soft brown, and baby pink, with accents of deep brown, navy, green, and black. It felt classic yet completely fresh. I couldn’t help but think back to when I first visited Rome at age 12, just discovering my love for fashion. The shop windows mesmerized me, it was like stepping into another world. This collection brought that same magic to life. It felt like a nod to the elegance of 1950s and ’60s Italy—La Dolce Vita, L’Avventura, and that timeless, Fellini-esque glamour.
The pieces in the collection ranged from red carpet-ready gowns to chic dinner looks and even easy, relaxed outfits for an afternoon out. The materials were just as varied — soft silk skirts, structured wool coats, and everything in between.
My favorite elements? The thigh-high boots, which instantly elevate any outfit, and the sharply tailored hats that give every look a bold, sophisticated finish. Accessories like bags, headscarves, and jewellery followed the same colour story and tied the whole collection together beautifully.
The front row was just as glamorous as the runway, with stars like Sharon Stone, Gwyneth Paltrow, Joey King, Hayley Atwell, and Nicky and Kathy Hilton in attendance. The celebration began a day earlier, on June 16th, with a special Welcome Dinner for international guests, hosted by Max Mara at La Bersagliera.
