A NEW VIEW OF LUXURY: ZEEKR 9X IN MONACO

Words by Samo Šajn

There are few places where a new vision of luxury feels more at home than Monaco. Last week, we joined Zeekr at the Monaco Yacht Show, where the brand presented its new 9X model. With Port Hercule filled with yachts, the setting offered a glimpse into the world that helped shape the car.

The influence is visible in the 9X’s design. Its sweeping roofline and satin chrome rear pillar take cues from motor yachts, while its clean lines give the large SUV a calm, confident presence. Created by Zeekr’s design team in Gothenburg, Sweden, the 9X pairs generous proportions with carefully considered details.

Inside, the focus shifts to the passenger experience. The six-seat cabin offers individual space across three rows. In the second row, reclining seats and extending leg rests invite passengers to settle in, while Nappa leather and wood bring warmth to the interior. A faceted crystal controller in the centre console adds a distinctive finishing touch.

Other features are designed for the moments between departure and arrival. Passengers can watch a film on the sliding, foldable 17-inch screen, listen through a 32-speaker Naim sound system or reach for a drink from the onboard refrigerator. Privacy blinds help create a more secluded atmosphere, while heating, ventilation and massage functions add to the comfort of the first two rows.

The 9X has power to match its presence. Zeekr’s first Super Hybrid combines electric motors with a petrol engine that helps extend its range. The brand quotes up to 897 horsepower and a combined range of up to 737 kilometres, based on preliminary manufacturer figures. In Monaco, however, it was the car’s design and attention to detail that connected most naturally with its surroundings.

Zeekr’s role at the show extended beyond the presentation of the 9X. As sponsor of the Upper Deck Lounge and Closing Party, the brand joined an event where craftsmanship and innovation are central to the conversation. “As the rules of luxury continue to change, we believe the 9X perfectly reflects what the next generation of mobility should be,” said Lothar Schupet, CEO of Zeekr Europe.

The Monaco Yacht Show gave us our first close look at the 9X, but its appeal extends beyond the occasion. From the considered shape of its exterior to the comfort of its cabin, it shows a brand growing more confident in its own idea of luxury.
