AMERICAN EXPRESS OPENS NEW CENTURION LOUNGE AT AMSTERDAM AIRPORT SCHIPHOL
American Express has expanded its Global Lounge Collection with the opening of a new Centurion Lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, marking the first location in continental Europe to carry the Centurion Lounge name. The lounge opened on September 17, 2026, between Concourses E and F, and is open daily from 6:00am to 9:30pm.
Spanning nearly 6,000 square feet, the new space draws inspiration from Amsterdam’s architecture, landscapes and cultural heritage. A palette of blues, greens and earth tones references the city’s canals and surrounding landscape, while design details such as black quartzite, brass and warm wood combine contemporary interiors with elements inspired by Amsterdam’s historic canal houses. The lounge also showcases work by Dutch artists including Mieke Jonker, Reinder Schmidt, Geesien Postema and Thirza Schaap, bringing contemporary interpretations of Dutch nature and identity into the space.
Food and drinks are central to the experience, with seasonal dishes inspired by Dutch and regional European flavours, alongside a full bar serving beer and cocktails. The Blue Roast Coffee Bar celebrates Amsterdam’s coffee culture with locally sourced coffee and a dedicated barista programme. Guests can choose from a range of seating areas, including armchairs, café tables, booths, workspaces and group seating. The lounge also offers private restrooms, a phone room, high-speed Wi-Fi and extensive power and USB access.
The Amsterdam opening brings the Centurion Lounge Network to 33 locations, while the wider American Express Global Lounge Collection provides eligible Card Members access to more than 1,550 lounges across 140 countries.
